Student of the Month Interview

1. What did you do to earn this award?
I worked hard and made sure to have fun with it at the same time.
2. What are the requirements to be elected for student  of the month?
They have to have mostly A's and be involved in other activities.
3. Who chooses the student of the month?
The principal with suggestions from teachers.
4. Are you involved in extra curricular activities?
Yes, orchestra and guitar after school.
5. Are you absent often?
No.
6. Are you taking courses to challenge yourself?
Yes, I see it as a puzzle, and I love puzzles.
7. How do you feel about being elected?
I feel proud of myself.
8. Is there any ceremony or special way of receiving this title?
Not really, I get a tray from my parents to celebrate.
9. How do you receive your award?
The counselor calls me in with all the teachers and the principal.
10. How much competition is there for the award?
Not much because most students are too involved with their social lives.
11. Who nominates you for the award?
Teachers nominate us.
12. What does receiving this award mean to you?
I've done hard work and I can be happy with what I've done in school.
13. What are you going to do to continue receiving this award?
Continue working hard in school and maintain my organization.
14. Who encourages you or helps you to work hard in school?
My friends, family, and teachers.
15. What happens to the other nominees? Do they receive any recognition?
There are runner up awards.
16. How does the school (or whoever chooses the student of the month) deal with the same student consistently meeting the requirements to receive the title? Do they give it to the same person or rotate?
The rotate to be fair.
17. What happens when two people are tied for the award?
They split the recognition.
18. What are your grades like?
A's in every class.
19. Are you in advanced courses?
Yes, all pre-AP.
20. Once you graduate, what do you plan on doing with your life?
Becoming a musician and helping others in need.
