1. The woman wrote something that made people feel more inclined to help the man.
2. I was like "woah," it made me feel like my choice of words can have an influence on my life.
3. To show us that our choice of words plays a huge role in peoples interest to read the paper.
4. We can use more pathos in our words to make readers want to read.
5. The Guardian covered the story of the three little pigs in 3 or 4 different ways.
6. No, the story is different from how I remember it as a final.
7. They interviewed police men, the wolf's doctor, and other credible people.
8. They covered the wolf's side as well as they covered all the background and purpose.
9. Yes, there were a few aspects of the pigs story that were not covered.
10. The Guardian never covered the three little pigs opinions of what happened, they were guilty, not the wolf.
11. Yes we can do this for events on our campus.
12. I can find out whats going on, daily, in the student life.
13. This year, being on newspaper staff, I have learned the amount of extra time, work, and dedication the newspaper requires. I have learned its not as easy as some people think.
14. Next semester I can try to manage my time more efficiently to get my assignments done on time.
15. I think the work load should be spread out more, like as an editor, I got assigned to write 3 stories (after mentioning my preference for photography) I also signed up to take photos for the paper and had to fulfill my editing job so I think there should be a better system of distribution for tasks. Also, staff relations should be more comfortable. I feel like everyone has a few people who they associate well with and then aren't as comfortable with everyone else as they are with those few, I think everyone should have some sort of bond in order to be able to communicate better.

Newspaper Scavenger Hunt
1. Over the summer, the school made some changes to its physical appearance. Downstairs, each hall in the main building got new grey tables with red benches and plaques on top dedicated to the donors. Many of the school halls also got digital clocks as opposed to the traditional ones. These new sleek clocks, brightly display the hour making it faster to tell time when you're passing by. The left wall of the cafeteria got decorated with a painting in the Bowie colors.
2. Jyoti Luu says her first few days have been great! "All of my classes and teachers are awesome!" She did find one issue with her schedule though, "They put me in computer science but I didn't request it." Jyoti is gonna spend time with her counselor to fix the problem and be placed in the classes she actually requested. Lauren Noe also had a problem with her schedule, the counselors gave her an off period that she didn't ask for! "An off period is nice but I want to challenge myself." Being in the top 10, she wants to keep it up and make the best grades she can "I'm worried about colleges looking at my schedule and thinking I slacked off!" Lauren plans on being a lawyer so she wants to make sure her transcripts are good. Yasmine Ben-Brahim says her first few days have been pretty good. "Not having basketball in the mornings is such a relief!" She quit basketball after 6 years because she doesn't plan on going big with it. "Some of my classes seem hard but I think I'll be able to handle it." She's taking a UT onramps course and pre-AP pre-calculus so she has quite a lot on her plate!
3. Bowie High School has created many new spaces and classes this year including new theatre classes. These class provide a larger range of theatrics for students to study. There are also more levels to be able to have ranges of experience and skill. One of the shows this year is going to be "Tarzan" and the theatre students seem to be very excited about it.
The main office in Bowie has been rearranged. The counselors wing has been drastically changed. Instead of the offices being at the end of the long, narrow hall, most of the counselors offices are at the entrance. This is making accessibility to the counselors easier for students this year.
4. Football is one of the sports thats that has already begun this year. The first official game is Friday, August 28. The whole school is excited about the season, starting with the players, the cheerleaders, the silver stars, and the marching band, not to mention the fans! HDR Photography
1. I will have to shoot at least 3 pictures with different f-stops or shutter speed so that I have at least 3 different pictures (from dark to bright).
2. I need a camera, a tripod and a HDR blending software.
3. It is a specific style of photo with an unusually high dynamic range that couldn't otherwise be achieved in a single photograph.
4. A HDR shows a range from the darkest dark and lightest bright, which you can't see on a single photograph so a HDR can show everything from some surreal work to stunningly accurate reproduction of what you see.

The Big Day
I think this video is about a bride and groom that are about to get married. The groom takes too long to get to the chapel because he is driving a slow car. The lady marries someone else in his place and he is too late when he final gets there.
Who- Bride and Groom
What- Getting married but someone wants to stop the wedding
Where- Church
When- Modern day
Why- Because the random guy loves the bride
How- interrupting the wedding
The first scene is a car driving on a road on a very gloomy day, inside is a nervous man dressed very formally. The next scene shows a bride getting ready with her bridesmaids to walk the isle. The man is impatiently driving on an endlessly winding road near the coast in the next scene. The father of the bride has a disapproving look on. The wedding time is getting closer as people in the next couple of scenes look at the time. The man is in traffic, very stressed. He finally arrives at the church but he is too late.
Who- Man who is in love with Bride-to-be
What- He wants to stop her from getting married
Where- In a town near a coastline
When- On a gloomy, rainy day
Why- Because he loves her and doesn't wanna see her with anyone else
How- Objecting their vows
"I need her to know she's the love of my life." Joseph states nervously.
As he rushes, the bridesmaids help the bride finalize her preparation to walk down the isle and the wedding keeps getting closer.
"Everything will be just fine, don't worry." The maid of honor, Amy reassures Marissa.
The brides father, Dan looks at his watch disapprovingly.
"I have a hunch that something is going to go wrong." Dan tells his wife in concern.
The Joseph becomes anxious and loses his cool in traffic but finally arrives at the site of the wedding.
"I have to do what I have to do," Joseph reminds himself, "I know deep down she loves me too."
He opens the doors only to discover that he is too late to stop his love from marrying the wrong guy.

iMovie Preview
1. In order to make an iMovie is to have a camera and a computer. You want to select New Project on iMovie. Name the project then save it. Widescreen is the DV mode. To view one of your clips, highlight it then press the play button. In order to stop press the play button again. In order to import an clip or still picture you will need to press import, then you place the images or videos in the order you want. Then you are ready to watch your final product.
2. I already knew how to import photos and how to put the videos in order.
3. I learned how to format the item and how to save it correctly.
4. I'm concerned that for some reason I will mess up and not do everything right.
5. I am confident because my family know a lot about iMovie and they will be a big help in getting it done early.
6. I would shoot my cousins stay this weekend where we will do many fun things.

Nut Graf
In my opinion, a Nut Graf is the basis of the whole story and provides the roots and structure for the rest of the story. The use of the Nut Graf is very crucial to the story because it provides key information that intrigues readers to read on.
For readers, the Nut Graf is the purpose that the story is being read and is displayed in the second paragraph with further information on the 5 W's and H. With this additional information, a correct structure for the story as a whole.

Portfolio Analysis
Part one-
1)
a. Josh Birnbaum
b. Wheelchair Basketball
c. They thought some of his photos were just boring, they thought a lot of his pictures were too cliche and they also didn't like how he did 2 stories about wheelchairs.
d.They liked how he used black and white for all of the second story.
e. I think his photos were really boring and super cliche.
a. Jordan Murph
b. Sports
c. They really didn't like either of the photo stories that the photographer put in the portfolio and some of his pictures were too staged.
d. They really liked the composition of his first couple of photos, His real sports pictures captured really good moments.
e. I didn't like this photographer very much because all of his photo story pictures were just really bad and boring.
a. Carlos Delgado
b. People
c. They did not like either of the photo stories and the captions did not help explain the photo.
d. They liked some of the angles that the photographer used and the humor in the soccer picture.
e. I really don't like this photographer at all because all of the stories and pictures were just really boring.
2)
a. the judges liked how close he got to the subjects and they also liked how well he captured the moments and facial expressions on people's faces.
b. I think the photographer had a lot of strengths like knowing when to center pictures and when to use the rule of thirds. I also think he did a really good job on framing photos. I don't see any weaknesses
3)
a. The judges just kind of eliminated the photographers as they went because they all agreed that some of them were just really bad. When they got to the last portfolio they all really liked and didn't think there was any bad photos so it was a unanimous vote.
Part two
1. I agree with the judges on a photo in the no ball section where the little girl is punching on some punching bags. The judges don't think it is a good photo and I don't either because it is blurry and the color just isn't as good as it could be. It is also just a boring photo in general.
2. I disagree with the judges on one of the student image photos. It is the one at a baseball game where the dad is tossing his daughter into the air and I think it is an amazing photo because the dad and daughter are a silhouette against the very colorful night sky. The judges just didn't think it was a good photo at all.

Architecture Preview #2
Surroundings
This photo shows surroundings because you can see the landscape around the building. You can also see all the things that are near or around it.
Details
This photo shows details because it is a detailed depiction of one of the hotels many recognizable features. This shows the staircase very well and a room that seems to have a golden theme.
Light
This photo shows the light from the sky reflecting off of the building. Although it may have been artificially enhanced, it shows a great relationship between the natural light and the building.
Patterns
This picture shows the patterns that encase the inner side of the building. This tells me that the building is monotonous in terms of structure.
Shapes & Angles
This photo shows the building from a different angle and shows off its unique shape. It also shows some shapes that reside at the top of the building like the circular helipad and the triangular poles.

iPhone warm up
1. My favorite photo on this website is the one of a wide, multiple lane street taken in Denmark. I like it because it is very balanced and taken in black and white and it is kind of taken from a bird's eye view so there is a wide angle to see from.
2. I am very surprised that these photos are all taken from an iPhone. They are such high quality and I rarely take photos like this.
3. I think that the apps used to edit the photos contributed a lot to the outcome of the photos because it is very hard to believe that they are all iPhone photos.
4. One tip I would use to make my photography better on my iPhone is using cool apps to teach myself how to become better. A second tip is that I should focus more on the subject by tapping it and try and blur out the background.

4. The building is a five-star hotel
5. The cost of construction was 650 million USD
6. Built to be a hotel
7. The architecture is very modern and is meant to resemble a sail, which I think they executed very well. I love the design of the building, as well as the location that was chosen for it. The interior of the hotel is also modern and elegant, and it's definitely somewhere I want to go in my lifetime.

7. I chose to research this building because its architecture caught my eye. I love how even though it looks delicate, it is functional and open to visitors. Also, it provides activities for tourists and visitors so I would love to participate in them.

7. I picked this building because the architecture in Spain is so beautiful and I've always wanted to visit Spain. Also, I had heard about this building and wanted to learn more about it. This building is amazing and so interesting to learn about.
Sensory Overload
Quote: " I believe that more and more, we are defining out environments not as the spaces themselves, in terms of the buildings to architecture, but rather by the objects and devices that we buy and surround ourselves with… I would like that message to carry through universally," Seymour said.
1. I feel like what it saying is that to really nourish our environment and not to go crazy by building all of these buildings, but to reserve it because nature is a really important thing to our everyday lives.
I would agree with this statement because I feel like a lot of people do not really notice how much land they are taking up until it is all gone.
I really love how in pretty much all of the photos there are really nice pops of color in it with really makes the pictures stand out, and look really cool. But that is the thing I like how color can make such a difference in photography to bring that attention to amazing photos.
2. No, because it would probably feel to crowded in those little stores. But some of the objects that they are selling I guess I wouldn't think of people buying to where they need a whole store.
3. They would probably be really bored being stuck in those little stores, waiting for customers to come in to buy something. Because I know I would not want to be in there.
4. My favorite photo was the store with all the flowers because I really love flowers, how they are so pretty. I kinda have an obsession with flowers, because they are so pretty to look at.
